The 2023 List of Off-Season Restaurant Closings

Updated August 6th

Off-season is right around the corner, and restaurants are starting to make plans to take some time off. Not all restaurants in St. John close for the off-season, as you will see in the list below, but several do. The dates below are tentative and can change at any time. I will do my best to keep this list updated.

If you are a restaurant owner or manager, and you would like to update your listing, please email jenn@explorestj.com.

Hi and thank you for the restaurants info. I’ve spend time on Island throughout the year(s) but have not visited in October. Friends I have spoke to are off island Oct and Nov and have said the island is “shutting down”.
We are at the Westin mid Oct. and wanted to do some boating and BVI if that is possible that time of year. Any suggestions would be great!

Hi Renee! Yes, you can definitely go to the BVI in October. They have some spots that close there too, but not all. I believe that Soggy Dollar stays open all year, but just double-check with them. Pirate’s Bite on Norman Island does close. The Baths are always open too. October is a great time to visit! I have friends coming October 21st. 🙂

Hi Jenn! Thank you for this list. We are staying 9/9-9/16. Our first time. A little disappointed that so much is closing down. Would you know if there are any “fancier” restaurants that will be open? Looking to have a least one “dress up” night. And Lime Out will be shut down too?
