Great New Spot for Breakfast, Lunch & Sweet Treats!

I had one of the best milkshakes of my life yesterday, and, today, I’d like to tell you all about it!

I was with island tour guests yesterday and we had just left the flamingos out near Mandahl when we decided to stop for a quick treat at Flavorful Delights. It’s a new food truck that opened back on November 1st, and it’s located at the former Tourist Trap location near Salt Pond. Specifically, it sits right at the entrance to the Concordia eco resort on Route 107.

Flavorful Delights consists of two bright pink food truck just off of the main road. It has several brightly colored picnic tables, so you really cannot miss it. And even better, and appropriately so, it is decorated with a bunch of flamingos too!

Flavorful Delights serves breakfast and lunch, as well as a variety of smoothies, milkshakes, and more. And like everywhere on St. John, it serves alcoholic drinks too.

My guests each opted for a fresh fruit smoothie, and I splurged for the chocolate shake. It honestly was one of the best I’ve ever had!

Flavorful Delights serves everything from smoothies and milkshakes to breakfast sandwiches and burgers. It is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. You definitely should check it out the next time you’re in the area! Oh, and my island tour guests want you all to know that the restrooms were extremely clean too. Sometimes it’s the little things in life, folks. 🙂

A Few New Island Webcams

I know how much you all love watching the webcams located around the island. Well, I have a few more to share with you all today.

Want to see a couple of new ocean views? Then check out the webcams at La Jolla Caribe. This villa has one that overlooks Cinnamon Bay with views of Francis Bay, Jost van Dyke and beyond. Its other webcam looks towards Peter Bay with peeks of Lovango and Congo cays too. Check them out:

The last webcam I’d like to share with you is from our friends over at The Windmill Bar. They have a newish stage cam, so you can now watch live music with one of the best views on St. John!

The Road has Reopened!

After six long days, the road up Jacob’s Ladder has finally reopened, thanks to the hard work of several St. John residents.

The road leading to the Westin had been closed at Jacob’s Ladder since last Friday morning when a truck carrying a crane slid backwards down the street and crashed. The crane blocked the roadway, creating a traffic nightmare in Cruz Bay.

Crews worked diligently to flip the crane and remove it. That finally happened yesterday afternoon, and crews worked into the night to clean up the roadway. It is now fully reopen as of Thursday morning.

I would like to thank everyone here on St. John who worked to make this happen. I recognize it was no easy feat, and we all appreciate your efforts.

Road Still Closed & Outage Expected

Here is a quick update regarding the road closure that’s been affecting since St. John since last Friday:

The road between the basketball courts and the top of Jacob’s Ladder (en route to the Westin) remains closed as of Tuesday night. It is expected to remain closed until Thursday at the earliest.
Drivers are getting rerouted through Contant Point. This is the road that starts/ends at the basketball courts and also at the top of Jacob’s Ladder (the steep hill). There are cars on the side of the road and spilled/dry concrete in separate areas on Contant Point Road, making it one-lane only at times. Drive slowly and with caution. This is also a neighborhood that has children, so please be mindful of that.
Public Works announced Tuesday that the road should be cleared by Thursday.
Public Works also said there will be a power outage on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is needed to safely remove the crane that fell off of the truck last Friday. They did not say which areas or which feeders will be affected.
E-C Service Station – the gas station ear the basketball courts – closed temporarily this afternoon. It will reopen February 24th. The gas station closed in order to upgrade its fuel system. This has nothing to do with the crane issue on the road just past it.

Colombo’s Has Moved… Just a Bit. :)

The Colombo’s Smoothies food truck is no longer on the property.

Update: I just received a call from the new owner of Colombo’s. He said that the business has officially been sold, and that he has a lot of great new things in the works. The smoothie truck moved up the hill, and it will be reopening soon. Stay tuned for more info!

Today’s post is about something and nothing at the same time. 🙂 The Colombo’s Smoothies food truck is no longer on the property. The business has been closed since late August. I am uncertain if they plan to open elsewhere.

The Colombo’s business listed for sale last June. The listing was for the brand and the lease, not for the land itself. The asking price was $350,000. Here is a bit of the listing:
