Well folks, I was surprised to learn that there was not only one cruise ship anchored off of Cruz Bay this morning, but there are TWO! It’s not unusual to have a small cruise ship anchor off of Cruz Bay during our busier months here in St. John, but neither of these ships are listed on today’s official cruise ship schedule. Odd, right?
The two cruise ships visiting St. John today are the Emerald Sakara and the Evrima, which is affiliated with Ritz Carlton. The Emerald Sakara is 360 feet long and only carries 100 passengers when it’s full. The Evrima is 624 feet long and can accommodate up to 298 passengers.

As I mentioned above, it is not uncommon to see a small cruise ship anchored off of Cruz Bay during high season. These ships usually carry well under one thousand passengers. They are brought to shore in Cruz Bay via a tender. The larger ships always dock in St. Thomas.
Looking ahead, it looks like we will have cruise ships anchor off of Cruz Bay again on December 16 and December 23. There are not any dates listed on next month’s cruise ship calendar, but I am sure that will change.

The gift shop at Cruz Bay Landing is located beside its coffee shop & creamery.
A great new gift shop just opened in Cruz Bay, and I think you all will find something you love inside.
Cruz Bay Landing recently expanded and now has a full gift shop beside its coffee shop and creamery. The gift shop is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Cruz Bay Landing, the restaurant, serves breakfast. lunch and dinner daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Cruz Bay Landing’s gift shop features several great items like custom t-shirts, polos, golf shirts, and rash guards, Stanley insulated cups, golf balls, St. John cutting boards, and more. Take a look at a few pics I took yesterday afternoon:
It looks great, doesn’t it? And did you notice that the Home shirt is back?! That design hasn’t been available since before the storms. I don’t know about you, but I’m happy to see it for sale, once again!

It looks like it’s starting to get rather chilly up north, so I thought I would do my best to warm you up today. I took this video at Cinnamon Bay beach yesterday morning. The temperature was a lovely 84 degrees. It was yet another sunny day with very few clouds. Enjoy!

Hello everyone, and happy Wednesday! There is a brand new bar and grill on St. John, and today I am going to tell you all about it!
Mid Way Cafe & Grill opened recently on Centerline Road, which is Route 10 on the map. It is located at the Mid Way gas and grocery store complex, which is about three miles from Cruz Bay and about five miles from Coral Bay. It’s a beautiful spot that includes a bar and a large dining area.
Mid Way Cafe & Grill is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. It has a robust menu and a full bar, which includes blended drinks. Check out the menus:

Another great feature here is parking. It can be hard finding a spot when you’re looking to eat in Cruz Bay, so it’s nice to have another new option outside of town. Mid Way Cafe & Grill joins Coco Jims, Heading East, Flavours Nightclub, Shambles, Windmill and Tony’s Truck as options outside of Cruz Bay on Centerline Road. All are located between miles two and three.

All of the funds raised from this raffle will support the Resilient Housing Initiative, which was originally launched in 2018 in response to damages from Hurricanes Irma and Maria. In partnership with other organizations, St. John businesses, and local contractors, this program has completed 37 full rebuilds here on St. John, which is pretty incredible. The COVID-19 pandemic put even more strain on resources, and we saw prices of shipping and materials rise. In response to the changing needs of the island, Love City Strong expanded its program to include smaller repair projects. The objective is to mitigate damage from future impacts and make homes more safe and accessible for residents.
